A continuous boarded surface, ceiling or wall

Tongue and groove boards interlock so the joints close up and the surface reads as one plane, broken only by the reveals between boards. On a ceiling it is the usual way to give a flat plane some direction, and it pairs with beams rather than competing with them.

We run it in natural timber and in faux wood panelling, which comes in shiplap, tongue-and-groove, barn plank and reclaimed profiles. Which is right depends on the room: polyurethane and PVC are fully waterproof and suit bathrooms, kitchens and covered outdoor ceilings, while natural timber gives real grain and board-to-board variation.
