Collection: Commercial Faux Wood Beams

Beams specified for commercial interiors — offices, restaurants, hotels and retail. These are the same polyurethane profiles we supply for homes, sized and finished for rooms that get looked at all day and have a ceiling full of lighting, HVAC, sprinklers and speakers to work around.

Specifying beams for a commercial interior

Commercial work differs from residential less in the product than in everything around it: the ceiling is already committed to services, the finish has to hold up under continuous lighting, and the schedule is tied to a fit-out program rather than a weekend. Three things are worth settling early.

  • Layout against the services. Send a reflected ceiling plan if you have one. Beam centers are set around lighting, diffusers, sprinkler heads and speakers, and it is much cheaper to resolve that on paper than on site.
  • Finish consistency across a large area. Every finish is hand-applied, so some variation between pieces is normal. Over a large commercial ceiling that reads differently than it does over one living room — ask for the run to be finished together and request a color match against your material palette rather than picking from a photo.
  • Lead time against your program. Standard profiles run about 4–6 weeks, the economy line 6–8, and premium custom work 8–10. Those are production times, before freight.
